Our craftmanship history
Founded in 2014 by K.S.Snelders.
Kuun refers to his nickname he got from friends and family. As a little kid he was always making things with his hands.
In 2014 he started a small leathergoods atelier/workplace in the basement of his house after he was missing a small wallet and cardholder on the market, which was comfortable to wear in your pocket but could also be attached to your belt to have safe and easy access to your personalities (money and important cards). A new mens aseccoires was born.
After several samples were made, a revolutionary wallet with zipper was born in 2014, the well know Kuun Zipper. The Kuun Zipper can be attached to your belt by an extra stitched piece of leather with 4 screws (every corner) on the back of the wallet. When not attached to your belt, the extra piece of leather with screws can be used as an extra cardholder slot (which can hold up to 3 extra cards).
The revolutionary design allows you also to carry easily banknotes, coins and cards in your pocket without bulging.
The house signature colors are based on the colors of his hometown: Delft. Forest Green, Navy blue, lightblue, black, white and grey.
Our Kuun Zippers
Handmade in the basement, from sketch to end product. The quality of the leather is very carefully selected. It's a soft leather which is elegant and ideal for movements.
It took several samples to come to the end product we known these days. Sourcing the best metal hardware and the best leather was a requirement that could not deviated from.
Since ten years on we are testing with sustainable alternatives for leather, but we still couldn't find the right ones. Some alternatives looks good on the surface but in reality the quality is not that good over a periode of use. Also we are convinced when leather is a by product of the food chain it's a very sustainable product. When properly maintained it can last forever and keep it's elegance.
We will keep innovating and looking for sustainable alternatives.
